Welcome to the Harvest Rally Website
PDF Print E-mail

Hi Folks,

On behalf of the Donegal Motor Club, I would like to welcome you all to the website for the 2009 Seaview Hotel Stages Rally.

We have organised a challenging event, using roads that are regarded by all as ‘classic’, ensuring you the competitor, will once again encounter a Donegal sporting experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else in Ireland. We welcome you here, and look forward to meeting you for the recce for the event, and later to the rally itself.

For the spectator, it will again offer roads and terrain unparalled anywhere in the country, showing County Donegal in its best autumn splendour. Please come along for the week-end, spectate from a safe area, listen to the advice of our officials, who give up their time for your safety and the love of this sport.

I would like to thank all our sponsors and especially our main sponsor the Seaview Hotel who we would ask you to support on the week-end and at other times of the year as well, when you may travel on a short break, long week-end, or maybe for a longer period of time during the year. We know that many will return to the area at other times of the year, and we thank you for that.

To the Donegal County Council, An Garda Síochána, the Health Services Executive, Civil Defence and all other bodies who help out, we extend our sincere thanks.  Without all these people it would be impossible to run such an event.

We thank the residents on the stages for their assistance and goodwill, and I would ask spectators to respect their property.  I would also ask that spectators obey the marshals at all times.

Finally a very special thanks to my own team who give so much time and assistance into organising this event.

I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend here in the Donegal Gaeltacht.

Tony Boyle, COC
